Spotify is getting ready to launch a new service called "Superpremium. " This service will cost $19. 99 per month and will offer lossless audio quality, AI-generated playlists, and additional features.

It seems like Spotify is getting ready to release a new and more expensive version of its service called "Superpremium. " According to Chris Messina, he found evidence in the code of the Spotify app that the Superpremium service has a new and eye-catching logo, as well as more features than just the high-quality audio we were expecting. Actually, the new features will likely include AI tools that make playlists, tools for mixing music, more time for listening to audiobooks, and a personalized feature called "Your Sound Capsule. "

Messina recently found out that Spotify is working on AI playlists. These playlists would let users create their own unique playlists with some help or prompts from the AI. Spotify didn't confirm the news, they said they won't talk about new features.

However, the mentions of the Superpremium brand have been discovered in the code prior to today.

A few weeks ago, a Reddit user named Hypixely discovered that Spotify will introduce a higher-priced tier costing $19. 99 per month This information was revealed by looking at screenshots of Spotify's code. The new tier will offer AI-generated playlists and high-quality lossless audio. The premium service introduced by Spotify called "HiFi" is no longer being talked about or used.

Spotify's CEO, Daniel Ek, was asked about the delay in releasing the company's earnings for the second quarter. He mentioned that they still believe that Hi-Fi (high-fidelity) audio has value, but it might only be interesting for dedicated music enthusiasts in the streaming market. They are exploring how they can use Hi-Fi as a tool to increase their value in the future, but they don't have any specific plans to announce right now. It seems like he might be suggesting that Hi-Fi could be a way to raise prices in the future, but they have also made changes to make it appealing to a wider audience.

The Redditor found out that Superpremium users can now sort their music library by mood, activity, or genre. Messina also confirmed that there are additional filtering options like vibe and beats per minute. In simpler terms, Superpremium includes more hours of audiobook listening compared to the Premium subscription. The Superpremium subscription offers 20-30 hours of audiobook listening, which is a little higher than the 15 free hours that come with the Premium subscription.

Meanwhile, the Reddit user found a special feature on Spotify called Soundcheck that shows you what kind of music you listen to and helps you find a mix of sounds that are special to you. But now, Messina sees that this feature is called "Your Sound Capsule. " He thinks it might have something to do with Spotify's "playlist in a bottle" experience they introduced earlier this year. Additionally, Messina discovered information about something called Highlights, which seems to be similar to Last. fm's listening statistics

When asked to comment, Spotify refused to provide any additional information about the new discoveries.

At Spotify, we are always trying to make our product better and give users something valuable. "We cannot discuss rumors about potential new features and we currently do not have any new updates to share," said a spokesperson to TechCrunch.
